Happy New Year to you all!
It’s been a moment but I’m back and ready to get into full swing.
I’m not quite the same girl I used to be. I’m a mom now, someone who works in the media but can be a bit of a homebody at times. While I do live some aspects of my career in the public, I am a private person. When it’s time for crowds, I can be a social butterfly when I have to be, even though the comfort of my cocoon is where I enjoy being at times. Such is a time, New Year’s Eve.
I love the parties, I love the cheers, I love the ball drop but I can’t wait to get home to enjoy my private Jar Drop. What is a Jar Drop? Well, it’s a way to look back on what occurred. I get an empty jar and fill it with slips of paper. Throughout the year, I write the names of people, places, ideas, things and events or even sayings that have stood out to me when they happen. I focus on the positive things. Then on New Year’s I open the jar and read them and think what an incredible journey it’s been.
The next day is spent with my daughter as we create our vision boards. These are basically boards that are like scrapbooks of sorts. We cut out pictures of magazines and we place them on the board. Then we pick one per month to accomplish.
Let’s get out there, fill the new jars and take our journey together as we #Rise! Have a wonderful 2014!
