A year of professional growth and personal accomplishments has ended with Thia being one of 10 influential Bahamians asked to give the Bahamas in Review with Mackey Media’s The Bahamas Weekly. What started off as a honor to even be considered to the list to give her views on her home country, ended with Thia opening up on a private matter that she overcame that is affecting many Bahamian women.
“I’m used to asking the questions not being the one answering them,” Thia said of the highlight. “The Bahamas Weekly is a major source of news in and out of The Bahamas and it’s actually my personal choice when looking for something positive to read from my region. So it really is an honor to have people who I consider colleagues and who I respect greatly in the industry want to even ask my opinion.”
Special shout out to Robbin Whachell and Dave Mackey for offering Thia to participate as the 6th spot. Other Bahamians contributing included names in fashion, media, television, politics and more.
TheBahamasWeekly.com has randomly selected 10 Bahamians to canvas their
opinions on highlights of The Bahamas over the year 2012, as well as ask about the upcoming 40th year of independence for The Bahamas, and the direction of the country. Their comments will be shared over the coming weeks.
It is our way of highlighting Bahamians in our community, as well as sharing a wide variety of opinions.
Our sixth feature is with public relations and media personality, Arthia Nixon of Eleuthera:
